About
Seeds of Hope Association is a non-governmental Palestinian charitable organization that works in the community and developmental sector in the Gaza Strip. It seeks to empower people and enhance the capabilities of the community to build a more just, cohesive, and prosperous society.
Our story
Seeds of Hope Association grew up in Deir al-Balah and was registered in 2007. Its name comes from a simple idea that its slogan sums up: what we plant today, in people and in the land, is tomorrow's hope.
The work began with small livelihood courses and household growing. Over the years it widened to education, psychosocial support and livelihoods, in cooperation with local and international partners.
When the war intensified we turned much of our effort to relief, and kept training and learning going where we could. The aim has not changed: for people to manage their lives with their own hands again.
Where we work
Our office is in Deir al-Balah, in the Middle Governorate, and we work across the entire Gaza Strip. The association has worked since 2007.
We pair our legal name with our registration number and place of work so we are not confused with other organisations that may share a similar name elsewhere.

Our goals
- Empowering vulnerable groups socially and economically through training programs and developing their skills to qualify them for self-reliance and improve their living conditions.
- Implementing community development projects that contribute to achieving sustainable local development and meeting community needs.
- Contributing to poverty alleviation and unemployment reduction through economic initiatives that create job opportunities and support local production.
- Providing social and humanitarian services that enhance social cohesion, such as distributing seasonal assistance and supporting families in need.
- Developing targeted areas socially and economically.
What we hold to
People's dignity first
We do not publish the names or pictures of the people we serve, and we do not turn their need into a display.
Honesty about what we can do
We say what we can do and what we cannot, and we do not promise what we cannot be sure of finishing.
Working with local people
The people who live in a neighbourhood are the first to define its need, and they carry out the work with us.
Fair access
We review lists of recipients with neighbourhood committees, and support does not depend on political or family ties.
Accountability
We give the general assembly a written summary of our work, and we receive and answer complaints at the same email address.
